Hi

Just wanted to let you know that I have decided to move my blog to a more user friendly option. You can now find this at http://uniquebeadedgems.blogspot.com/

I hope you will still continue to follow this and please leave your comments!! Look forward to seeing you there!!

More Developments to report!!

It's been another good week! I've now got another gallery outlet to add to the list. It's called Leabrooks Gallery and it's in Somercotes, Derbyshire. Leabrooks is run by Carol and John who have been very supportive. My work is in there now and they have also asked me if I would like to spend some days in the gallery and have open days where I am there making up my pieces and having a sale at the same time. Really looking forward to this!!

I've also had my first sale through this site! Finally all the hardwork in promoting it has started to pay off! If you haven't seen it yet, you can also see my work on my page on Facebook.

Yesterday I was on the internet looking for stuff when I came across a website that had quite an impact on me! It's www.helpemmawalk.co.uk. This site has been set up by Emma's parents to publicise the fundraising they are doing for Emma. She was born with Cerebral Palsy and basically needs an operation to help her to walk more easily. The operation she needs is not available in the UK so they have to go to the US. They are trying to raise £30,000 by August. Please visit the site and read their story....it's quite inspiring. If there is any help you could offer or you simply want to donate to the fund that would be fantastic. I will be attending their event at Wasing Park on 20th June so hope to see you all there. I am also working on some "Emma Earrings" that will be available for sale on my website soon. All the proceeds from the sale of these will go to the fund so please watch this space!!

Back soon. Jo x

Exciting Times!!

The last two weeks have been so exciting for me!! My jewellery is now in two shops - Created Gallery in Chesterfield and Charmed Boutique in Northwood, Essex. I'm hoping to add to this list over the next few weeks once I found the places that I think would work. I've got some potential places in mind, now I've just got to go a do a "wrecky" of a few so watch this space.

I've also been busy designing after spending time with Deidre at the Created Gallery (a great place to visit by the way)! I took all of my pieces to Deidre so she could decide which pieces she wanted to stock. This led to a quite in depth discussion about where my design is going. We decided that I have three distinct looks to my pieces - beaded gemstone necklaces that are fairly straight forward designs, lots of chain with either pearls or gemstone beads and then the statement pieces made with lots of geometric shapes and colours. I have decided after discussion with Deidre that it is in designing the statement pieces that my heart really lies, so I think my focus will be with these. I also think this is were my talent really lies. Here is one of the latest designs in this style :
